Thrapston Beer and Cider Festival ..............................
Put it on your calendar – August Bank Holiday is free fun time!
Following the success of the first Thrapston Beer and Cider Festival the second is planned for the August 2019 Bank Holiday weekend. The festival is open from Friday 23rd August and is a weekend of sports, music and events with real ale and cider available throughout.
The festival is free to enter, and the three- day event is organised by Sporting clubs based at Castle Fields Sports Field.
FREE ENTRY Opening Times:
• Friday 5pm - 11pm
• Saturday 12noon - 11.30pm
• Sunday Family Fun-day 12noon - 10pm The weekend kicks off on Friday evening
at 5pm with the opening of the festival, followed by a Thrapston Town Football club game kick-off at 7.45pm. The Cortinas will also be playing live music in the clubhouse until late. Entry is free.
Saturday events commence at 12noon with Thrapston 1st XI Cricket Club playing
a league cricket match, and the cider and real ale bar will be available. This is to be followed by a live band in the evening called Bodgers Mate from 7.30pm till 11.30pm –
again, entry is free.
Sunday is the Community Family Fun Day
at 12noon. Free activities include:
• A Barn Dance in the hall
• The Extreme Mountain Bike Show
• Fiery Jacks Circus Workshop
• Inflatable rodeo football, large inflatable
slide, inflatable total wipe-out and human
table football
• Local groups providing side stalls
The following will be available all weekend: Real Ale, Ciders, Artisan Gins, Cocktails, Food and lots of fun!
Local groups and clubs are invited to participate in the event free of charge to promote themselves. The event organisers are open to ideas on how clubs could participate by way of side stalls, games or competitions with a small prize.
