So, at the time of writing we are just entering
the time of reflection known as Lent when
Christians begin forty days of preparations
for the joy of Easter (20th April). As we come
closer to Easter there will be a Family Activity
morning from 10am–12noon on Good Friday
(18th April) with craft activities, singing, quiz
and finding out what happened on the first
Good Friday as well as hot cross buns. Check

For those who prefer a quieter Good Friday
there will be an Hour at the Cross at 2.00pm in
Holy Trinity, Denford in the afternoon.
Easter Sunday will start with a sunrise service
in Islip churchyard at 6am. Breakfast will be
served from 9am in St James Church with an
Easter Communion Service at 9.30am and in
Denford at 11.15am. Please join us at one of these
services to celebrate the joy of the resurrection
which is at the heart of our Christian faith.
Praise and Play will be taking a break during
April but look forward to welcoming under 5s
and their grown-ups from 9.00am-10.30am in
St James Church on Monday 28th April It’s a
great way to start the week! Look for the flag
outside and come on in to meet new friends,
sing, share a story, play and engage in a craft
activity. It will be great to meet you.
There is always coffee and often cake in
St James Church on Tuesday and Saturday
mornings 10am and 12noon. There is usually
a short Communion Service in the Chancel on
Tuesday mornings from 9.45am-10.15am.
Another popular place to meet and chat
is Knitting on Monday evenings. No need to
book just come along to St James Church on
Monday evenings from 6.30pm-8.00pm. All
ages welcome!
For the more energetic amongst you why not
try Line Dancing with Suzanne in the Church
Hall, either on Monday evenings from 6pm–
7pm or Tuesday lunchtimes from 12.15–1.15pm.
Thrapston Indoor Market will be in the
Church Hall on Saturday 5th April from 9am-
1pm so come and visit us once you’ve been to
the Farmer’s Market, there’s always a variety
of stalls to visit. Book the date for the Fashion
Show too – Friday 16th May at 7pm. Tickets are
available now.
Bellringing practices are each Monday,
7.30pm to 9.00pm. Visitors and learners are

The Men’s Fellowship will meet in St James
Church on Wednesday 23rd April at 7.30pm.

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting
for Thrapston and Islip will take place in St
James Church on Wednesday 30th April at
7.30pm and for Denford on Tuesday 13th May.
Everyone who considers themselves to be a
member of the church is asked to sign onto the
Church Electoral Roll as it is being rewritten
this year. Deadline is Sunday 6th April -see John
