     What’s in the pipeline?
As most of you will know we ran various Zoom talks for members and non- members on a wide variety of subjects. All these talks were extremely popular and well received. So where do we go to build on them for the benefit of our new and existing members.
Recognising that a fresh look at things always helps the Trustees have asked Raymond Higgins from the Irish DA to assist them in going forward. The first stage will be a survey of members to gain information and to find out their views
on the Society now and going forward. Hopefully by the time you read this it should be started. At the Trustees last Zoom meeting a very useful session led by Raymond provided an insight into what we might implement in the coming year. Areas identified were:
• A programme of Zoom talks targeting some specific groups – such as Novices, new members etc.
• You Tube channel – To provide short instructional videos and allow members to post their videos.
• Link up the NVS Flickr account for archived photos.
• More Facebook Competitions and more at Branch DA level
• Feasibility of a “virtual DA” for those not close to, or able to attend a DA meeting.
These are just a flavour of some ideas which the Trustees and Raymond will be looking to implement for our members. I know it seems easy to say it but if anyone feels they can help in these areas or would like to provide an input please contact nvsinfo@nvsuk.org.uk or give one of the Trustees a call. We would be delighted for you to become involved, however much, or even just hear your thoughts.
In addition to future areas, some other initiatives are now coming to fruition. A series of 20 Growing Leaflets is being produced, covering most of the common veg people would grow. These are designed to cover the basics of growing them for the kitchen and are intended
to provide enough information in 4 or 5 pages from sowing to harvesting. At the time of writing some 50% of them have been uploaded to the website and can be viewed under the Library tab.
We are also implementing a few minor changes to the website to provide
a section for each of our partners to
allow them to provide more news and information about themselves. giving more information on our partners. Back issues of the SV magazine are also in the process of being uploaded to the site
