The RAVC Veterinary Officers became an integral part of the hearts and minds programme devised by the 22 SAS Squadron in the region (there being only one Squadron in country at any time, unless on handing over) and the BATT. The Corps’ unique role in Op STORM was recognised at the time and for its lasting benefits to the Jebali people. Supporting and connecting the health of a country’s animals to the health and welfare of its people was an inspired military initiative.
