Soldiers from 1st Battalion, The Mercian Regiment returned home from Canada in early August after completing a successful British Army exercise on the prairie that lasted almost two months.
Exercise Prairie Storm consisted of over 250 armoured vehicles and 900 soldiers, who all spent almost six weeks training on some of the most intense live firing ranges in the world.
1 MERCIAN only began training in the armoured role 15 months ago, yet proved its ability to move to high readiness in the British Army’s order of battle.
