The Society has existed since 2006 and concentrates on the history of the parish and locality. Meetings are bi-monthly on a Friday, including
a period meal and an outing. Contributions on local history are regularly included in the Whilton Newsletter.

Formed in September 1955, the Society has been involved in a number of campaigns against the demolition of important buildings and structures in the area. Since 1964, it has also maintained an archive of images of the area.
