This farm is all about community and sharing. Anyone who makes a batch
of comfrey feed shares it with all, and there is a seed swap scheme in place. A number of courses are held, which include jam and chutney making, and there are also activities for the children. A cob oven fuels the social events, which are held in a large kitchen/dining area.
It was good to see allotments alive and well on the other side of the world, in a totally different climate to ours, with different challenges, but I am sure that the rewards are the same.
I shall return one day to this oasis in the suburbs, just a stone’s throw from the Brisbane River and the hurly burly of Brisbane City Centre.
