Just Giving a little can help Bliss support families
Three years ago we were both delighted and alarmed to welcome our first grandchild into the world. Delighted as all new grandparents would be but alarmed because he was born in January and we weren’t expecting him until May. As you can imagine he was tiny, 800 grams tiny, and the photo of his Daddy’s wedding ring around Ethan’s ankle shows just how tiny he was.
He was very small but also amazingly resilient and after 89 days in hospital he went home which was when the rest of the family were able to hold him for the first time.
He celebrated his third birthday recently and is a delight to us all.
His Mum Caroline has now decided to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in March to raise funds for Bliss, the charity that exists to help premature and sick babies in the UK to give every baby the best possible future.
On her Just Giving Page Caroline explains: “2 years ago I did a Couch-5k to give me a focus and help improve my mental well- being. I realised quickly that running gave me back a bit of ‘me-time’ but also strength. Strength to overcome challenges that life threw at me. I also realised that if 24 week gestation babies (or less!), like Ethan, can fight for their life and succeed through many, many battles then I could keep running
to help raise a bit of cash for all those thousands of other parents and babies going through what we went through.
Every donation that’s made to this page brings Bliss closer to ensuring that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life. Bliss does that by supporting parents to care for their babies, campaigning for better neonatal care and enabling life-changing research.

numerous appointments and hospital admissions later... Ethan is a very strong- willed, gorgeous little boy. Information and support from Bliss kept us slightly sane through it all so please donate now!”
All money raised will go to supporting
babies like Ethan and parents like Tim and Caroline when they are faced with a tiny
new member to the family. If you would
