Oundle Calendar 2025
The 2025 Scenes Around Oundle calendar, produced by the Friends of Oundle Library, is now on sale. Over the last 14 years the calendar has become a fixture on many people’s Christmas lists, often to send to friends and family living overseas. It’s also essential to the support the Friends can provide to Oundle Library.
Sponsorship from local businesses underpins the whole venture and means the money raised by selling the calendar can pay for all sorts of ‘extras’ for the library throughout the year. In the past 12 months alone, the Friends have paid for various children’s entertainments (magic shows and more), equipment and materials, plants and supplies for the garden, and even repairs to the garden shed.
Local photographers
Once again, all the photographs in the calendar have been taken by members of Oundle
u3a’s Photography and Composition group. These talented and enthusiastic amateur photographers take pictures of Oundle and its
surrounding villages and countryside all year round, so they’re the ideal people to capture the beauty of our local area.
Helen Toone, Chair of the Friends, says: “Oundle Library serves a very large catchment area and regular customers travel to it from villages as far afield as Easton-on-the-Hill
and Luddington-in-the-Brook. That means there’s a huge variety of subject matter for the photographers and we hope our calendar does them justice. It was really difficult to choose the final 12 pictures.”
A sizeable project
The calendar represents a sizeable project for the photography group. Each member is asked to submit pictures for consideration before 60 photographs, sorted by month, are presented to the Friends’ committee to make their final selection.
The calendar costs £8.00 and will be on sale at Oundle Library and other shops, including Colemans, the Oundle Bookshop, Oundle Pharmacy and the Barn Garden Centre.
