Asparagus
The arrival of the
short season for
British asparagus
is treasured by
food lovers.
Asparagus is
a fantastic source of folate – essential
for red blood cell production and DNA
synthesis (growth and repair of cells) and is
especially important for pregnancy. It’s also
rich in vitamin K, crucial for bone health
and blood clotting, and contains prebiotic
fibre, supporting gut health.
A simple way to enjoy asparagus is
lightly steamed with a drizzle of olive oil
and lemon juice, or roasted for a deeper,
nuttier flavour. It pairs beautifully with
poached eggs!
