Plant Pots and Wellies have ‘BEAN’ Busy!
Plant Pots and Wellies is an innovative community incentive initiative to provide horticultural therapy for both children and adults with additional needs. We are based on a large, previously derelict allotment in Harlow and we have been very busy and hard at work over the last few months bringing it back to life. The results have really paid off!
We were so excited when we harvested our first produce of yellow and purple French beans and courgettes. We were able to make our first food donation to Streets2Homes and hope to continue to do so.
We are extremely happy to announce that our volunteers can now earn Time Credits. Time Credits are a way of recognising the amazing things people do in their communities, which you can spend on hundreds of activities across the country. You can spend your Time Credits on yourself; you can take friends or family with you or give them some of your Time Credits to spend themselves. You can find more about Time Credits at www.wearetempo.org.
We also had a stand at both the Great Get Together in Harlow Town Park
and the Harlow Showcase in the marketplace. It was so wonderful to meet and chat to everyone. We are now open every Thursday and Friday from 10am (weather permitting). If you are interested in volunteering with us, we would be very happy to see you!
