automated system that I had set up the results appeared in the Awards sheet instantaneously, as did the cultivar/ variety of the winning exhibitors. Likewise the most money and most points sheets were also instantly updated. It most gratifying to learn that with a little initial extra work in setting up the entries system there was nothing that was needed to be done once the results started to come in, apart from entering the competitor number in the relevant cell. Rosettes and place cards were all in place by completion of judging and before the public (and exhibitors) were allowed back in the hall.
Thanks go to all of our judges Arwyn Edwards - Carmarthen, John Croot – Derby, John Mead – Essex, Geoff Butterworth – Yorkshire, John Woods – Greater Manchester, Martyn Strange – Gloucestershire, Bernard Brown – Staffordshire and Mark Hall – Shropshire, where they must have got something right as there were no grumbles, at least that I was aware of. We must also thank our team of Stewards, not only for assisting the judges, but also for patrolling the hall afterwards and offering
advice to the inevitable
questions that members
of the public always put
when seeing such high
quality exhibits.
The NVS National Championships can
only take place with the effort
and dedication made by all of our exhibitors who grow the superb specimens as seen on the show benches so to those we also extend
