with great clarity and the scale of the effort required in this area was very apparent.
3 Division put on an excellent show for ACSC, as well as the ICSC (L) and ICSC(M) courses who also visited the demonstrations through the course of the week. It was evident that a great
deal of effort, resource and manpower was expended on providing the best possible introduction to the capabilities of the British Army, and of particular note was the pride and professionalism of the soldiers who made the visit a resounding success.

Perspective From Chile Commander Rafael Letelier
WHEN I WAS SELECTED to attend ACSC, I started contacting other Chilean officers that had completed the Course, to check their experiences and to know what to expect. Their response was not exactly what I thought... They did congratulate me for the appointment, but then
there was a sense of a ‘veiled warning’, which was: “well, you will have a great time in the UK and you will meet some very interesting people, but you will also need to work hard, very hard!”
Looking back now, I can certainly say they were right, but not quite in the way I first thought. The Course is anything but easy or relaxed, but it is extremely rewarding.
The combination of top-level lecturers and lively syndicate room discussion left me several times with a feeling that time was too short to grasp all that was available. With a couple of “run-ashores” in the UK and abroad and, for me and a handful of lucky opportunities including, a flight in a Hawk jet, it was indeed an exciting year.
I particularly enjoyed the variety of views and experiences from different countries and Services, and I did my best to contribute with my own perspective. After a year, I think I can say that I have experienced military education at its best.
