  Another highlight was the air mobility stand, with
aircraft on display at both ends of the capability
spectrum, including the new A400M Atlas and older
C130J. ACSC students were briefed on the strategic “ and tactical air transport roles of the A400M and how
the new aircraft was being folded into the current
Air Delivery infrastructure. It was also fascinating to climb aboard and speak to the crew of a US Navy P8 Poseidon and to better understand the return of the Maritime Patrol Aircraft capability to the RAF after almost a decade, as promised in the 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review.
In addition to the main visit, a handful of lucky students were fortunate enough to undertake Air Experience Flights and Typhoon simulator experiences. Being one of those lucky few, I can honestly say that the opportunity to conduct a
1 hour flight in a Hawk training aircraft, including some very scary ‘hands on’ the controls, was one of the highlights of my military career. The remainder were not left wanting and fortunate enough to
