FOR MILITARY FAMILIES, JUNIOR boarding for your child can offer
a very helpful way of ensuring continuity of education. In our experience, military parents’ primary concerns are that their children will be safe, secure and stimulated to learn, and that they will enjoy regular communication with their children and those that care for them.
In a complex and fast-moving
society, modern boarding can provide the security that children need to ourish. At the Dragon, children are immersed in a nurturing environment, in the inspiring setting of the University city of Oxford. They learn to be socially adaptable, while developing independent thought, spirit and motivation. Children are supported
in a child-focused space by a well- established pastoral system of caring Houseparents, matrons, energetic young assistant teachers, classroom teachers and year group heads, who
ensure frequent communications with home. Boarding facilities for younger boarders are welcoming, homely and full of personal possessions. Children have cosy shared bedrooms, space for games and comfortable areas to relax. There is plenty of scope for childhood play: gardens for football, picnics and barbecues, and access to the Dragon elds. Prep and homework are done at school, leaving Exeats, weekend leave outs, half-terms and holidays to spend with the family. Many families report that this approach ensures that family time is stress-free and enriched.
