FOLLOWING HOT ON THE heels of success in the Lerwill Cup, around 16
students and one member of the Directing Staff travelled to Paris on the
Eurostar for CJEX at the Ecole du Garre from Thursday 4th until Friday 18th May. This was an exciting time
to be in Paris due to the French Presidential election which took place on Sunday 7th May 2017
- the outcome of which was a decisive victory for Emmanuel Macron and ensuing celebrations along the Champs-Elysees for much of the night.
The British delegation was joined by similar sized groups from Germany, Spain, Italy and France plus a couple of Hungarian of cers and CJEX began

with introductory briefs and an ice- breaker on the Thursday evening. A highlight of the week was a cultural visit for the foreign delegations
on the Saturday morning to Les Invalides including Napoleon’s tomb.
We were privileged to stay at
Cirque National des Armees. This
is a military hotel in the centre of Paris making getting to work each day a simple matter of jumping on the Metro, walking or best of all, grabbing a Paris
