standing right in front of them.
If I can say that I have helped someone in
need, then that will be the highlight of my day. Most challenging part of the job? Coaching

to fight back the tears. It’s amazing how a bit of atmospheric dust can get into your eyes at moments like that.
Any future ambitions? I want to retire in a few years, but in the meantime, I will do my utmost best for the Oundle School community.

Any funny moments? Being mistaken for a traffic warden and a ‘Lollipop man’ (I do not possess a lollipop stop sign).
Proudest moment? Past... Receiving
a Chief Constable’s Commendation
for Bravery, being presented with a
Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, promotion to Sergeant and then to temporary Inspector.
I was choked with joy. It was very hard to fight back the tears
What brings you joy? Being useful and helpful to other people where I can. Being around positive people who
recognise the contribution that I make.
Something people don’t know about you? I was a talented football player before my teenage years, having played for Peterborough United Boys.
Present... Hugs and fist bumps from some
of our pupils at the 2024 Leavers Ball. They said “thanks for looking after us for the last five years” I must admit that I never saw that one coming, and I choked with joy. It was very hard
I also showed promise in amateur boxing as a young man.
Who inspires you? Martin Luther King Jr.
You have £10 to give to charity, who do
you choose? Cancer Research UK. Cancer is a disease that has blighted the lives of many that I have known, loved and sadly lost.
