The CBRN shoot the following
day for many was the most chal-
lenging. The bulk of the respirator
changed the firer’s natural posi-
tion drastically and many necks
were craning trying to get the rifle
into their shoulder so they could see down the sights. Once each OCdt found the position that worked for them, the shooting went well, but for many it was quite a hassle to figure out how to readjust to hold the rifle and it largely became a feat of contortion.
The week provided the opportunity to improve marksmanship and to gain confidence in using the SA80, something that will serve us all well in our future careers.
