Tpr Daniel Lee arrived at the Light Dragoons in July 2021 having com- pleted his Phase 1 training at the Army Training Regiment, Pirbright, before moving to AJAX Troop, The Armour Centre, Bovington, for his initial trade training.
Whilst at Pirbright and at Bovington, Tpr Lee performed well and was marked out as being a capable, fit and thoroughly professional soldier by his directing staff. Tpr Lee had always wanted to join the army, and on starting his training quickly established a repu- tation as a true team player. He excelled in all aspects of his course, and on arriv- ing at Bovington, soon assimilated the skills required to be an effective light cavalry soldier.
Tpr Lee arrived at regimental duty on 05 July 21 and quickly proved himself to be a fit and hard working soldier. He was well liked and respected by his friends and colleagues in B Sqn, and despite the short amount of time that he served in the regiment, it was apparent that he had a promising career ahead of him in The Light Dragoons.
Tpr Lee tragically passed away on 17 September 2021. He leaves behind his parents David and Rachel, sisters Lauren and Georgia, and his girlfriend Sophie. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and his loss felt sorely in the regimental family of The Light Dragoons.
