                                  Trophy Secretary
for the National
Championships
As previously reported, our 2022 National Championships saw our Trophy Secretary
step down. In 2023, no one came forward
to volunteer, so Mark Hall very kindly did. Mark
has kindly offered to manage this year’s National Championships Trophy’s too, but we really would like someone to volunteer for this role.
The role involves organising a set of engraved replica plaques each year, organising return of the trophies each year (eg ensuring exhibitors bring them back or organise for someone to take them back for them)
and organising the trophies on the day of the prizegiving at the National Championships. If anyone is interested in this role, please contact any of the Trustees (contact details on page 3).

IMPORTANT! National Treasurer
As reported in the Winter edition of your Magazine, Jean Forrester will be standing down as National treasurer in September 2024. This is a very important role for the NVS and is required constitutionally. As previously advised, you are not required to be an accountant.
The role includes maintaining a balance sheet through general banking activities such as paying and receiving monies to and from the five branches, reviewing and allocating membership monies received to the various branches (peak time 1st quarter each year), paying bills (examples include quarterly payment to our magazine publisher, annual trophy engraving etc, handling/paying expenses. The majority is done using on-line banking these days. Producing the year end accounts and liaising with our chartered accountants who independently verify our reports once a year. Please contact Fiona Shenfield to find out more. Our AGM is in September, but we would ideally like a volunteer to come forward before then who could gain an early insight into the role.
