This event is open to QARANC Regular, Reserve and Association members.
QARANC Association – Annual General Meeting and Reunion
The 66th Annual general meeting of the QARANC Association and Annual Reunion will be held at the Victory Services Club, Seymour Street, London, W2 2HF on 17 May 2014 at 1145hrs. Please complete the booking form and return to RHQ by 25 April 2014.
QARANC Ceremony of Turning the Pages
The Ceremony of Turning the pages of the QARANC Memorial Book takes place three times a year in the Royal Garrison Church of All Saints Aldershot and once at the National Memorial Arboretum Staffordshire. The ceremony honours those who have given their lives in the service of their country. The ceremony party is comprised of QARANC regular, reserve or retired officers and soldiers. Members of the QARANC are encouraged to support this event. In 2014 the ceremony will take place on:
Tuesday 3 June – Service to be held at the QARANC Memorial Plot National Memorial Arboretum. This event will be open to Regular, Reserve and QARANC Association members. Further details will be promulgated to Units and Branches. Sunday 7 September – Sunday Service
Sunday 2 November – Sunday service Heroes at Highclere (100th

This event will be supported by Regular, Reserve and Association members.
The Northern Ireland Veterans’ Association Service of Remembrance 2014
The Northern Ireland Veterans’ Association Service of Remembrance 2014 will be held at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire 11.30am on Saturday 20th September 2014
The service will commemorate and remember all those who lost their lives in service of the Crown as a result of the conflict in Northern Ireland. The service will be followed by a parade down to the Ulster Ash Grove for the laying of wreaths. Following the laying of the wreaths, there will be a 15 minute pause before the parade forms up for the return march to the visitor centre during which the guest of honour will take the salute. The service is open to all and all Associations are welcome to parade their standards. It would be appreciated if Associations arranging for groups of their members to attend could notify us of numbers and confirm if their standard will be parading. We look forward to welcoming you to our annual memorial service.

Chairman’s message
It is hard to believe that this will be my penultimate message as Chairman of the Association. My theme for this edition is inspired by Benjamin Disraeli who said ‘Change is inevitable. In a progressive country change is constant.’ With all the reviews that the Army have undergone in the past 20 years we are all very familiar with this concept.
On behalf of the Association, the Board of Trustees is endeavouring to ensure that all our policies and procedures are current and comply with the guidance provided by the Charity Commission. There is a great deal of work being undertaken by various sub-committees
– Media & Communications, Governance, Events & Activities - to take this work forward to completion.
I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you all to take time to support your local branch and its activities. If you have a desire for a greater involvement and are interested in serving on the Board of Trustees – or helping on one of the sub-committees – please let the General Secretary Heather Duncombe know, so that you can be considered when a place becomes available.
The Association is here to provide assistance to all who have served ‘Sub Cruce Candida’ so don’t forget – IF YOU DON’T ASK, WE CANNOT PROVIDE.
Calling Notice: BACCN Military Region Study Event: Bombs, Bullets & Catastrophes: Major Incidents in Critical Care
The British Association of Critical Care Nurses (BACCN) Military Region will be holding a study event focusing on the management of civilian and military major incidents from a Critical Care Nursing perspective. A varied programme has been planned and includes a leadership and clinical strand.
The event will be held on 22-23 May 14 at Fort Blockhouse, Portsmouth. Applications are welcomed from Intensive Care, Emergency and Theatre Nurses, Operating Department Practitioners and Health Care Assistants.
