Austin K2-Y Heavy Ambulance returns to Normandy
Since retiring from the QARANC three years ago, we have become very passionate about keeping the military medical theme alive by studying and re-enacting the Great War and World War Two eras.
We create a living history display of a WW2 Field Dressing Station (FDS) which includes a WW2 Willys Jeep and Austin K2Y Ambulance. The military vehicles are owned by us, after completing their WW2 duties. They have been carefully restored to their
present condition and are fully functioning, so that the public can view them. Our displays illustrate how casualties were evacuated from the front line, and treatments offered. You can re-live the sights of daily life from the 1940’s Aid Station, as we dress in period Army medical and nursing dress, provide war-time accounts, nursing procedures, and period equipment for the public to have
