At the time of writing, (Mid-January)
We’re excited about the upcoming spring
seminar, scheduled for Saturday, March
1st, at Moore Hall in South Roscommon.
In-person events provide a vital opportunity
for members to gather, share tips, enjoy
a cuppa, and chat about the upcoming
growing season. A heartfelt thank you to
everyone who has contributed to planning
and supporting the event. Your efforts are
greatly appreciated.
We extend our sincere thanks to all
members who have supported the “200
Club” by purchasing and selling tickets.
This initiative provides crucial funding for
the society in Ireland, enabling us to host
events and activities throughout the year.
A special note of appreciation goes to
Sean Egan for his exceptional promotion
of the club. Monthly draws will continue
until December—there’s still time to get
involved!
We eagerly anticipate the return of the
shows in the coming months, as members
prepare seeds and plants for the season

raffle during Medwyn’s Masterclass weekend last November, raising an
impressive £235 for the Irish DA. Your support is greatly appreciated!
ahead. The Irish Shows Association (ISA),
the officially recognized body representing
Irish Agricultural Shows, oversees the
annual All-Ireland Championships for
Vegetables. Qualifying rounds will take
place at shows designated by the ISA. Their
annual Yearbook, containing championship
details and affiliated show information, is
available for purchase on the ISA website.
We’re excited to announce our next outing,
scheduled for 9th May, to An Tlonad Glas
– The Organic College in Dromcollogher,
County Limerick. The visit will include a
guided tour of the college and its vegetable
gardens, led by an instructor. The group
will meet at Henrys Cafe, Dromcolloher
12.30pm for Lunch with garden Visit at
2pm.. All members are welcome to attend.
In June, we’ll return to the Cork Summer
Show, taking place on June 14th and 15th.
We’re pleased to have a dedicated space in
Sean Treacy , Tuam, Co. Galway. Winner of
the NVS medal at Mountbellew Agricultural
Show 2024 for his onions grown from sets.

Moate Show will host the 2025 Irish NVS
Championships on Sunday, August 24th.
The event will feature “The Chairman’s
Challenge,” showcasing a dish of three
Jaguar F1 courgettes grown from seeds
generously provided by “Unwins” to every
Irish member. This exciting new challenge
invites all members to participate, and we
wish everyone the best of luck! Schedule
