New business start-up
At Loyalwill Canine Hydrotherapy Centre your pet comes first!
Owner Steph Wills is a qualified Small
Animal Hydrotherapist and has decided to set up on Lowick Road, Islip. From a young age Steph used to take her Dad’s Racing Greyhounds for hydrotherapy either as part of a rehabilitation program or just for fitness and found it absolutely fascinating. About 8 years ago Steph’s husband had a Labrador puppy who did not want to swim and being a working gundog this is an important element. Steph took her for hydrotherapy and now she is a confident little swimmer, loves being in the water and the rest they say is history...
Hydrotherapy is basically water healing. Water makes the body buoyant and buoyancy reduces stress on the joints
which creates a much safer environment for recovery after surgery. The warm water helps to increase circulation and the warmth of the water along with the hydrostatic pressure helps reduce swelling. Hydrotherapy is controlled exercise in water therefore limiting the risk of injury with less pain therefore building general fitness and muscle tone whilst aiding recovery. Hydrotherapy will
also supply not only physical but mental stimulation for a patient post-surgery. It’s great for fitness and is used a lot for agility competitors, racing greyhounds and other
competition dogs. Some people take their dog swimming for fun just because they love it which is fine too.
