Junior 1st Class Cadets receive their badges for the Red Module (Ceremonial) and Yellow Module (Community). There are 15 Modules to complete for each badge. We took the opportunity to take the photographs in the fresh air – minus masks!

Barnsley Sea Cadets back with a bang!
Following the trials and tribulation of the last 18 months, Barnsley Sea Cadetsisbackopentocadets. PettyOfficer(SCC)NeilStubbshastaken over the command from Petty Officer (SCC) Lorna Smith who remains at the unit leading the Unit's band. Chief Petty Officer (SCC) Fran Rigate continues in the role of 1st Lieutenant and Probationary Sergeant (SCC) Kevin Sandham-Mulholland has taken over as Detachment Commander working closely with the new Chairperson Maddison Brown to bring Barnsley Sea Cadets back bigger and better than ever!
Over the last 18 months the volunteers at Barnsley Sea Cadets have been busy, not only with teaching and delivering online classes but also, completely renovating their toilets and classrooms.
The charity has been fundraising for the work since Christmas 2019
and has managed to raise £50,000 for the works plus a further £5,000 for equipment, £2,000 for activities and £10,000 for monthly outgoings – racking up nearly £70,000 in fundraising in just under 18 months.
The new classrooms (images attached) are now fully insulated, complete with new radiators, flooring and plastering/decorating, and will also have new Smart Boards installed shortly. The new toilets have given Barnsley back the ability to run weekend courses with shower facilities.
