In these strange uncertain times Thrapston Co-op saves the day!
We had already printed the April issue of Jigsaw magazine before the lockdown came. With so many people self-isolating we thought it was more important than ever to ensure that the magazine was available to keep the community in touch.
Our normal delivery man, quite rightly, didn’t want to put his delivery people at risk and we didn’t think it appropriate to visit people’s homes during this time.
So how on earth could we circulate all these printed magazines and help our loyal advertisers at a time when they need us most?
That’s when our hero, Paul Carvell, stepped in to save the day. Paul is the Manager at Thrapston Co-op and he kindly let us distribute the magazine from his store. Without any hesitation he agreed
to set up a stand so that everyone could help themselves to a copy along with their shopping.
When I visited Paul to deliver the boxes of

magazines, he was busy sanitising baskets and trolleys for customers going into the store. What a fabulous service this man and his staff deliver to our community at such a very difficult time. So when you go to pick up your essentials, please be nice to them, thank them for their hard work, give them
a smile when you pass by – for while we are safely tucked up in our homes, they are putting themselves on the front line to make sure that we have food to buy.
When in store, please try to:
• Shop alone
• Make sure that you abide by the social
distancing markers
• Stay at home if you’re ill
• Pay with contactless methods
• Respect the ration limits
• Only touch things that you’re buying
This keeps the marvellous Paul and his staff as safe as possible and makes their job a little bit easier.
