Charter Fair is nearly here.....................................................
All the fun of the fair – Lindsey Burch tells us more...
The fair has been running for many years now, well over 30. We have a different theme every year, and we are self funding. We raise money by stall rental, sponsorship and a raffle. This year we have been lucky to secure a Lottery Grant which will enable us to do a lot more.
As many of you know, we lost our Honoury President, Bryn Wright last year. Bryn was one of the founders of the Charter Fair. He worked tirelessly each year to help put it on. It was his greatest wish that the
fair would offer free fairground rides. This year due to the Lottery, we will be fulfilling
his wish. All rides will be FREE all afternoon. Bryn was known as Mr Charter Fair – and he taught me all I know, he will be sadly missed.
All the Committee are volunteers, who work hard to put this event on. We are always happy to have volunteers on the day, especially for clearing up at the end.
We will have Entertainment on the High Street and in the Plaza. The Church will have things going on to, we consider them a natural extention to our High Street event.
JIGSAW

The WI will be doing cream teas in the Plaza. This year we will have a bistro area outside
the Library, where people can sit and relax. Also, seating outside Bletsoes so people can watch the entertainment.
There will be a Fancy Dress Competition, our theme this year is Carrabryn [Caribbean] and is a celebration for Bryn Wright’s life.
Thank you for continually supporting Charter Fair – it is a community event, run by community members. Let’s pray we have a glorious sunny day.
