HULL SEA CADETS – TS IRON DUKE
By Sue Coupland
Lt Janice Spicer gave the cadets their challenge to produce baking and meals (following recipes she posted). Once completed, photos were taken and posted on line. This allowed Basic and Intermediate Cooks to earn their Badges.
        Online courses
Online courses included a Basic Stewarding Qualification, Piping Proficiency; and Executive Officer CPO (SCC) John Holah ran a virtual Seamanship Course. The MSSC produced other on-line courses, so that cadets could keep engaged with their Unit.
We have also linked up with the RCSCC
TS Iron Duke (based in Ontario) and cadets from both Units joined together for a Basic Seamanship Course. We hope to have further link-ups with this Canadian Unit.
VJ DAY
15 AUGUST 2020 75TH ANNIVERSARY
This day marks both the surrender of Japan and the end of the Second World wreath at Hull Cenotaph with Civic and invited guests.
War. We remembered and recognised all those who served, their sacrifice in the Far East and, which ultimately, brought an end to the Second World War. Lt (SCC) Janice Spicer MBE, RNR was asked to represent all Cadet Forces by laying a wreath at Hull Cenotaph with Civic and invited guests.
As guests were limited at this event and the cadets were unable to attend, they were again asked to submit photos, with their salute, as a mark of respect.
