Air Cadets meet Red Arrows during Virtual Training

One evening during August almost 200 Royal Air Force Air Cadets from all over the North of England took part in a virtual parade evening delivered by the Engineering Officer of the RAF display team, based at RAF Scampton.
Flt Lt Ben Ireland who is the Red Arrows Junior Engineering Officer for the display team also flies in the rear seat of “Red 1.” Ben gave a presentation covering the history of the Red Arrows, the display and how they train for it. Ben is also a former Air Cadet from our very own North Region!
Ben also talked through the eleven week North American Tour in 2019 including the iconic flypasts
of New York and Niagara Falls where he flew in the rear seat of Red 1. The Cadets had a fantastic time learning all about the display team and asking lots of questions about the team, engineering and the pilots.
