20 years in Thrapston
Funky Lil Feet Children Shoe Shop is delighted to be celebrating 20 years of trading in Thrapston. The shop was established in 2005 by Podiatrist Jane Warne who had a passion to provide properly fitted shoes for all (including orthotic and splint fits) from all different brands and not just your typical High Street names. Claire Fox joined the company soon after its opening and they became firm friends. When Jane retired ten years ago,
Claire took on the business.
Funky Lil Feet is based in the
beautiful Old Bakehouse on
Huntingdon Road and was extended
five years after opening as it soon
became apparent that they needed extra
space. The shop has gone from strength
to strength and has repeat business
from local parents to customers who travel from as far afield as Oxford, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk (not to mention the ones who live abroad that visit every time they’re back in town!).
They pride themselves on having fully trained shoe fitters, most of whom are parents or work alongside children, so they are not easily fazed. They also have a quiet room that can be used for
children that prefer a quieter environment. During the Covid restrictions, the shop
adopted an appointment system which has been so popular with customers that they carried on with it which means that there is no hanging around waiting to be seen. Shoes start from a tiny size one pre walker and go right up to adult size 12 in school shoes. Claire is passionate about the local area and community and

regularly helps out at local events. She is also just as passionate about using the Local High Streets. Here in Thrapston she says that there is a plethora of beautiful and established independent shops with shopkeepers who are so knowledgeable and care deeply about what they sell it would be such a shame to lose this through buying absolutely
everything online. Shoes in particular need to be correctly fitted and online services cannot give this knowledge.
Funky Lil Feet has thoroughly enjoyed trading in Thrapston for the last 20 years and looks forward to many more years in the Town and wishes to thank all its loyal customers for their support.
