Fantastic fundraising thanks Northamptonshire Health Charity
With the COVID pandemic, 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. As the charity supporting local NHS hospitals and community services, Northamptonshire Health Charity saw an outpouring of support from the local community throughout the year. Thanks to this, the charity has funded a wide-range of projects and initiatives helping both patients and staff. From enhancing patient care and experience while no visitors are allowed and supporting staff with wellbeing packs and snacks; to bigger things like sensory rooms, gardening projects and a reflection garden for Northampton General Hospital.
During lockdown many people took on all manner of challenges helping raise almost £126,000! 86-year old Jim Price raised £1,719 by tap-dancing every day throughout July; over £5,600 came from Kris Hawkins’ 36-hour static Spin For Heroes; Chantelle Esposito had to postpone her wedding so decided to run a marathon in 1-hour slots wearing various wedding-style attire, raising £865; Greens Norton villagers produced a lockdown cookbook – they raised £4,223 for ITU; Heloisa Quadros raised £932 doing doorstep photoshoots; Trystan Barnett celebrated his 18th birthday by running his first full marathon, complete with a police escort – he raised over £3,500. All these and so many more – Northamptonshire Health Charity would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the year.
