The big event for the families was around
the corner with Polar Express a much
sought after ticket around Norfolk, we
had managed to book early and ensure
we had 64 places on 2 different dates,
these were very quickly snapped up and
magical fun had by all who were on it.
Pyjamas were the order of dress for all,
with the CO getting in the festive spirit
and a full matching set for his family.

AGC (SPS)
The QDG AGC(SPS) team have
had a very ■■■ but rewarding
year, with the tempo of Opera-
tions spreading the team between
Op ELGIN, Op CABRIT, Op
INTERFLEX and various Exer-
cises showing the adaptability of
the team. The now smaller team
consisting of 2+12 would be tested
in its capability at reach.
Honing our skills as deployability
experts, getting the QDG out of the
camp gates, in good order, is no
mean feat. With a det structure that
has now changed, it challenged
the way we deliver our capability;
this year has seen optimisation and
automation thrive with the intro-
duction of future ways of working.
As Op CABRIT tied up two
members of the Det, Op INTER-
FLEX challenged the remainder
to deliver G1 technical capabilities
in RBSM, in Wathgill, in Poland
and in supporting various courses
and exercise that remained.
Stretched was the word of the
day but all personnel managed to
deliver, in good order, challenged
at times but, within the required
standard and beyond. The team
also managed to squeeze in some
cohesion and team building with
go karting, meals out and attend-
ance at the AGC Corps skiing
championships, to name a few.
SSgt Jones deployed on Op
ELGIN with the HCR and, was
awarded a Commander ELGIN
Commendation for his relent-
less pursuit of delivering a wide
range of G1 and G8 functions
that underpinned the success of
the deployment. Cpl Bain was
awarded the CO’s coin for his
exceptional work on Ex IRON
SKIRMISH 6 that, without his
input, deliver and hard work would
not have been the success it was.
Cpl Turner was awarded his L3
diploma in Business Administra-
tion, noteworthy on the successful
completion of his apprenticeship
with the AGC(SPS).
LCpl Thornton was successful on
being selected on the Cpls promo-
tion board, a testament to her
dedication to the technical detail
of the role we play and thoroughly
deserved. Pte Limbu was selected
to promote to LCpl and this is a
reward for the most challenging
and diverse welcome to the Army,
spending more time deployed
honing our warfighting capability,
he will be a credit to the branch
as he now develops his leadership
skills for the future.
