Recce Cadre
Op CABRIT (P) 15 provided a perfect
opportunity for B Squadron to conduct
a Recce Cadre for their most junior
personnel. Constructed into a two-week
package, Ex EMERGING EAGLE, looked
to provide soldiers with information and
experience on the core skills of reconnais-
sance and tasks that they may have to
conduct in the future.
14 QDG, 2 REME, and 4 Polish TDF
students attended the course, delivered by
6 staff members. Week one saw students
in and around Bemowo Piskie Camp (NE
Poland) conducting tactical PT sessions,
having lessons taught in the classroom on
the fundamentals, and having some time
on the back door training area to put into
practice what they had been taught.
At the end of the first week, all students
deployed onto Kepno Training Area, which
is bolstered onto the back of the Bemowo
Piskie Camp, to complete the test phase of
the course and have some exposure to the
actions they had been taught.
Throughout the exercise phase, the
students were given the opportunity to
practice their own command style through
being a section commander or 2ic, this
was designed in the hope of setting them
up for success once they embark onto
their LCpl ALDP course in the future.
Once the course was complete, all
students took part in a small parade to
celebrate their hardwork over the fort-
night and to award some prizes for those
students deserving of them. The prizes
were as follows: Top Student, Tpr Wright;
Student’s Student, Tpr Thapa; Most
Improved, Tpr Bosley; Best Fitness, Tpr
Wright; Best Navigation, Tpr Wright.
