Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations
To mark the occasion of the 90th Birthday of our Colonel- in-Chief, Her Majesty The Queen, The Royal Lancers were invited to take part in a weekend of celebrations in London.
Lieutenant Henson and Lance Corporal James joined other regiments to line the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral for a National Service of Thanksgiving on Friday 9th June 2016. This was a fantastic experience; being able to enjoy the atmosphere and ad- miration from the gathered crowd, and be in close proximity to the entire Royal Family, all living Prime Ministers and many others of the great and good was a priviledge and an honour.
On Sun 12th June 2016 we were joined by Lance Corporal Law and Troopers Howarth, Parr-Leonard and Alder to participate in The Patron’s Lunch Parade on The Mall. This was a large scale

parade of military personnel and representatives of national charities. A particular highlight of the day was the fantastic sup- port from current and former Lancers among the crowds, and the apparent delight of The Royal Family on seeing the mili- tary segment of the parade, especially the wonderful sight of the lances and pennants.
Finally, a very special visit to The Tower of London arranged by Jimmy James, a former Lancer, now a Yeoman Warder, along with watching Trooping the Colour, all made for a highly re- warding and entertaining weekend showcasing The Royal Lanc- ers in the Capital.
