In the second phase the Sqn were given greater room to manoeuvre

team for being able to host the Kosovans and Canadian teams at the last minute.
On return to camp, the Sqn effort turned to the visit of the new Colonel-in- Chief. Relative to the other sqns we had
along with conventional clearance operations. On the final attack the Sqn adopted stay behind OPs and conducted a series of ambushes, the success of which can be measured by Cpl Tomkins stealing the RL BGHQ map and forcing them to a four hour standstill as they changed the plan. In all a victory for the Land Rovers, it would seem.

Under the supervi- sion of Sgt Maj Wilkins, Cpl Donnachie helped organise a tour around a Tp Hide and Capt Wills had a career highlight in instructing HRH on how to use a drone. by Sgts Casey and Pugh and under the leadership of Capt Dillon (manager) and Lt Seales (Team Ldr); the team took a Bronze medal. A marvellous achievement for a team only drawn from one Sqn of the regiment. Also, congratulations to the
a training area that would be kind in terms of weather and terrain - Otterburn. Fortunately for all involved the Exercise took place during a wonderful cold snap and the assembled troops embraced the minus ten temperatures and snow on the
ground. Sadly, Tpr Higgins felt the impact of the cold most, having fallen on the ice on the final task- dislocating his knee in the process.
C Sqn finish the year on a high- with the knowledge that whilst we have not yet returned to our core role we still delivered on all of the varied challenges given to us. We are all looking forward to a training year (return to the USA) then a deployment with RY to Op CABRIT 16. Finally, a massive thanks go to Capt George Barham on his departure from the Army and Sgt Maj Wilkins on his move to HQ Sqn. Without these two the successes of the year would not have materialised.
