Chapter Seventeen
An unknown boy lay asleep in a side room on the children’s ward. The doctor said he was suffering from a temporary loss of hearing, had sustained a broken wrist and bruising on his body. The police were waiting to hear from his parents to report their son missing.
His injuries could have been far worse had the car that clipped him not swerved suddenly into the next lane. The boy was distressed and anxious when he arrived in the A & E department shouting: ‘Don’t let me die!’ To proceed with a thorough examination and diagnosis the doctor gave him a mild sedative to calm him. There was little anyone could do until he woke up.
