Hoorah and 3 cheers for Thrapston Library and its Friends...
The Friends of Thrapston Library are pleased to announce that following
the Town Council’s withdrawal of their offer to purchase the Library building, Northamptonshire County Council have decided to keep the building and are presently in discussion with the Friends to manage the Library in the future as a Community Library.
Thrapston is one of the five towns that the County Council brought back into their statutory provision library service, following their initial announcement eighteen months ago to close it, although if they managed it now, the library would only be open for two days of 6 hours each.
If the Friends Group are successful in their negotiations, they will continue to open the library, with volunteers on the five days that it is presently open. Please continue
to support your local Library, which has received many new books over the past six months.
