1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery
A rare but exciting opportunity of interoperability with our counterparts at the Royal Logistic Core, delivering ammunition forward to the A1
signor course, acquired his C license, completed a HAZMAT course and finally the authorised ammunition representation course, it’s fair to say he is now qualified for years to come.
LBdr Barnes had the opportunity to deploy to London in August to work in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development office, where he was tasked to assist in the issuing of visas to Afghan nationals who worked and supported the British government. An eye-opening experience being able to help people in genuine need, in his time there his team had enabled 450 Afghan nation- als safely into the UK. On his downtime he made the most of it, visiting a Gordan Ramsay restaurant, visiting Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye, Downing Street and even managed to watch the Horse Guard parade. It’s fair to say LBdr Barnes made the most of the opportunity and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, welcome back to reality!

Sadly, we have had to say goodbye to SSgt Mcskelly and Sgt Brown after nearly 4 years in the department, SSgt Mcskelly moves on after successful promotion, to become MTWO 32 Regiment RA and Sgt Brown has assumed the role of RCMO Assistant. We wish them all the best for the future.
We welcome in SSgt Robinson posted in from 5 RA as the Regi- mental fleet manager, Sgt Moore as the Technical Sgt and Bdr Watts as the department signals Bdr. All are great additions to the department and are raring to go for the challenges that lie ahead, hold on tight!
As the year is ending, we have the joy of looking forward to the upcoming Logistical assurance visits, where our accounts and procedures are scrutinised for clarity. A daunting day for some within the logistical world. We are in a great place; moral is high, and the team are fully prepared.
