RADC Overseas in Episkopi
It has been an action-packed year for Dental Centre Episkopi; making the most of life without restrictions with all members of staff embracing their sunny posting opportunity.
Workforce changes saw the departure of Lt Col Slim, Capt Fear and SSgt Stephenson. In their places we welcomed Lt Col Phillips, Maj Cheesbrough and SSgt Sugden.
Throughout 2022 we have been taken part in many events, starting with an Oral Health fair in April for the community, shortly before the RIB changeover.
Next up was the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June. Both SSgt Stephenson and Cpl Robinson were chosen to receive their medals directly from Commander British Forces, Major General Rob Thompson.
In July our Hygienist Ms Nastassja
Taylor presented and excellent Oral Health presentation to the Year 4 school children. Brilliant oral health related games were played with full enthusiasm. At the end the class they were provided with dental goody bags. Included in the bags were, a toothbrush, toothpaste, stickers, dental rubbers and
OH leaflets. All sourced through local unit funding.
Also in July we had a school children’s
visit to the Dental Centre. Cpl Robinson gave the children a tour, letting them become familiar with surgery surrounding. There were multiple dental related activities set out for the children. The children also left with dental goody bags.
Summer saw the introduction of a Dental Centre newsletter. Inside included a competition which was intended to gain the interest of the community. The
newsletter informs the community of all things dental centre related, including oral health messages. The competition was a success and two members of the community, both military and civilian won an electric toothbrush.
Not all work and no play, the team managed to enjoy a white space day to Sparti ropes park. The day was action packed and adrenaline filled! Enhancing our already high team spirits.
