all done with a fantastic group of people. Some of the opportunities could only come
in a military environment, from delivering dentistry on Op TELIC and Kenya to skiing at the Army Championships, expanding what I thought I could achieve. It was an amazing 20 years that I would recommend to anyone who wants do dentistry and a whole lot more.

I like this photo because it nicely sums up the ridiculous things we got up to! This was around Christmas 2012 in FOB Oulette. The contrast between my civilian dental role and life in the RADC is massive!
I genuinely loved all my postings – mostly directed – they are what you make of them. I think my favourite posting was Holywood
in NI. This was my first posting and as OiC of a 3-chair centre, I had no idea what I was doing! But I learned what being an RADC Officer is all about. It was great as I got out to Kenya (2010) and Afghanistan (2009) along with the soldiers I was looking after, which although a sobering experience made me understand how important our role is.
I have very fond memories of RADC adventure training (which I never made enough of). This included some demanding challenges, including the Yorkshire 3-peaks, UK 3-peaks, Cycling 3-peaks and Hadrian’s wall. I organised a few of these and I hope they are still going on because it’s just such amazing team building! I think Ali Armer plodding 84 miles dressed as a Roman soldier should go down in history – his boots and feet fell to bits around mile 30, but he carried on and never stopped smiling for the tourists who wanted pictures with him!

To everyone that I had the immense pleasure to serve with during my time in the RADC, Thank You! I leave with fond memories
of great deployments, exercises, AT and general day to day duties with some of the most fun loving and hardworking people.
I hope to see many of you in the future in
my new RAF role. Teeth and PT! The most wonderful job combination. Don’t lose the momentum! Best wishes, Kat.
(Ed – big thank you to Kat for sending this to us while she was deployed to the Falklands- always putting in the effort!)

I look back on my RADC journey with immense pride and fond memories.
I would love to recite my funniest memories, however most are sundry indecorous adventures which implicate otherwise unimpeachable members of the Corps (past and present) and are not fit to print. However, for those in the know, Major head and Mount vvank!
My favourite globe-trotting posting must be Ascension Island. The outstanding beauty of the sandy beaches with hatching turtles, transitioning to other worldly volcanic clinker
