Local WI meets in Thrapston
Thrapston WI meet on the 1st Thursday of each month, at Thrapston Baptist Church. We have an exciting programme planned for 2024, with a wide range of speakers and
activities including crafts, dancing, local history and travel.
On the 1st February, Suzanne Thurlow will be leading a line dancing session. Participation is optional but visitors are more than welcome to come and watch.
We also have an active skittles team, who play every other week in Islip, and a walking group
who meet every other Thursday, enjoying easy walks of around two miles.
Contributing to the wonderful Thrapston community is important to us, and the walking group came up with the idea of donating a bench to the Thrapston Nene Valley Park Project. Following a fund-raising campaign, we are delighted that this has now been installed. It’s in a lovely spot – ideal for enjoyment of the gorgeous view.
As part of Northamptonshire Federation of the WI, we also have access to events arranged by them. Some of our members are planning to attend a London walking tour in March, and others took part in a Mince Pie Walk in December.
Our meetings start at 7.30pm. Visitors fee is £5, refreshments included. Do come along and say ‘hello.’ We’d love to meet you.
