TIME
FOR TREE
A fir-tastic start to the year?
Winter is a great time for pruning deciduous trees, when the sap is not as active, and the leaves have fallen, enabling you to see what you are doing more clearly. With Spring fast approaching, don’t delay in carrying out any
of your winter pruning jobs before the leaves start to grow and birds once more start to nest. Check the health of your trees by doing a quick assessment of the roots and for any major deadwood that is often a sign of a damaged tree. Should you spot any leaning in your trees, it may be time to call in the professionals; being proactive often saves money and aids safety, and we are only a call away.
Nene Valley Tree Services Ltd is your local arborist, a friendly, family-run business specialising in all tree care jobs, from removing a dying or diseased tree, offering advice on planning applications for protected trees, and carrying out tree-care maintenance on your land, or pruning your hedges.
We would like to take this opportunity to announce some fir-tastic news! For the past six years, we have run a Christmas tree chipping service, helping to raise over £37,000, for Sue Ryder, a charity close to our hearts. This year, we have our hands full with our excited soon-to- be-5-year-old son, and a gorgeous new puppy
in the mix, so we had decided not to partake. However, some of you may already know that our head tree surgeon Andy, is also an-on- call firefighter for Oundle Station, and so we have last minute decided to offer a small-scale tree-chipping service for the Oundle area only to support the fire-fighters charity – another charity now also close to our hearts!
