Heat Replacement
Therapy
You will have heard of HRT, try some Heat Replacement Therapy and extend your salad growing season with an HHT – Horticultural Hot Tub.
The key ingredient is fresh manure, so if you’ve got access to a reliable source, sandwich it between layers of leaves in an insulated enclosure (you’ll need a transparent cover) and wait for the warmth.

Christmas Card Competition Result
In the last edition of 2022, we challenged our members to take the perfect allotment shot to grace our Christmas 2022 greetings card.
We had plenty of wonderful, wintery entries but managed to pick a winner and two runners-up.
The winner was Kim Ades (above), with runners-up Jasmine Hughes (right) & Belinda Robinson (below). Congratulations to all!
The winner received their own supply of Christmas cards with the two runners- up receiving a gardening book each.
NAW 2023
National Allotments Week will run from 7 – 13th August 2023.
This year’s theme will be Soil Health as we look at ways to increase biodiversity, reduce water usage and of course, grow better crops!
