Prayer for Animals
Lord, hear our prayer, for all animals, that in war died. Pray and remember them, for a
life that was sadly denied.
Lord, please listen, and hear what we say.
We pray for them, as we remember today.
When we say War, we think of the human race.
But we humans, also use animals, what a disgrace.
In peacetime they are used, as things of delight.
Highly regarded, until out of sight.
They have no say, in what they are asked to do.
They do it, because they must, they do it for you.
We have used Dogs, Horses, Camels and many others too. There have been Thousands and
Thousands, not just a few.
They have been used, in all Theatres of War.
Killed and mutilated and a whole lot more.
Once in a while, we hear a great story that’s true. Thought is then given, to the animal, when credit is due. For a while we think, it brings tears to our eyes.
Then we switch off and the memory, then dies.
Today, let us remember them, for the sacrifice they made. In places of conflict, let not, their memories fade.
Lord hear our Prayer.

a question sent in by one of our readers. We will publish the answer in the Autumn 2022 edition.
