NEWS FROM REAR COMMODORE HOUSE
A new decade, a new season!
At this time of year, it is always good to look forward to another year of sailing exploits and fun to be had, both on and off the water.
This year we have another packed social programme, with lots to entice you to our wonderful Gins Clubhouse on the Beaulieu River. We are so lucky to have such a superb asset, with such welcoming staff, in such a fabulous setting.
It is also good to welcome our many new members, who joined us last year. It was a bumper year for recruitment and the signs are that this year will be the same again.
We will be kicking off the spring season with a fun packed Easter weekend; a treasure hunt for the children and our traditional Easter Sunday Carvery. We will also be joined by our Cruisers, who will be heading for Gins as part of their Easter Rally.
The highlight of the summer will be
our Mayflower 400 Summer Party at Gins on July 4th, which will have an American theme. No surprise there! It will be a not to be missed event, cocktails, barbecue and live music to dance the night away to.
THIS IS OUR OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW OFF OUR CLUB AT ITS BEST TO INVITED DIGNITARIES...
We also have the more formal Commodore’s Cocktail Party. This is our opportunity to show off our Club at its best to invited dignitaries and to say thank you to our Race Management Team for their splendid hard work at Cowes Week. The RSYC’s contribution is key to the success of Cowes Week and is much appreciated by all.
A new event this year will be our Gins Regatta in August. This will be all about having fun on the water and is a good way of getting friends and family involved in
sailing and other water sports.
Autumn will be party time again, with
our end of summer party in September.A good opportunity to share stories of summer adventures and catch up with friends.
We will also continue to run our
regular events; Pub of the Month for our Southampton-based members and our ever- popular end of month Convivial Evenings, which will be hosted at Gins over the summer months. Convivial Evenings are a great way for new members to get to know other members and get involved.
This is, of course, just a taster of what we will be offering this summer; look out for our fortnightly Social Bulletin and check out the website to get the latest news of What’s On.
Best wishes for another wonderful summer!
