Sgt McDonald and his driver LCpl Limbu formed a formidable team, proving it is possible to get bogged in on a gravel track on Range 4, and that time spent in recce can indeed be wasted as the exact location of Bound 2 was never quite found. The mid- dle weekend treated the Senior Sqn to a Bank Holiday weekend. With vehicle maint and a range sweep conducted on the Fri even- ing, the Sqn bar then took centre stage for nigh on 72 hours, less for excursions to the beach and PT sessions (if only to ensure everyone was still alive). Rumour has it some hardy souls saw it through without respite, though suffice to say the profits were healthy. Fully refreshed, the final four days saw the Sqn RIGs’, under the keen gaze of Sgt Stu Naylor, efforts paid off, 13/14 crews pass ACT first time with strong showings across the board, LCpl Exelby winning Top Gun. Vehicle availability was high through- out thanks to SSgt Adam Wright supported at all times by Sgts Chesters and Hannabuss and the wider Fitter Sect, with only enforced CPS modifications slowing down our ability to get to troop shoots. Special mention must go again to Cpl Stu Portlock for both putting in Herculean efforts to keep the tanks firing, but also inspiring a new haircut of choice amongst the junior ranks. A sign of true leadership to see the likes of Tpr Felton-Keeling emulating such a battle winning asset.
