 Apple powdery mildew
 Surfactants.
Remove infected foliage, grow resistant cultivars, prune out any infected wood in the winter, regular inspections. SB Plant invigorator.
 Botrytis
 None available
Good ventilation, reduce humidity, space plants, good hygiene, avoid over feeding with nitrogen.
 Chocolate spot
 None available
Avoid close spacing, remove badly infected plants, good air circulation and drainage.
 Clubroot
 None available
Grow resistant cultivars, apply lime if the pH is below 6.8, and improve drainage if the site is wet.
 Downy mildews
 None available
Grow resistant cultivars, reduce humidity, space out plants, and remove infected leaves and rotation.
 Onion downy mildew
 None available
Clear any debris when harvesting, do not compost infected material, good air circulation and weed control. Use resistant cultivars.
 Onion white rot
 None available
Do not compost infected material, long rotations, clean tools and boots before moving to healthy soil.
 Peach leaf curl
 None available
If trees are growing against a wall or fence erect a framework and cover the plant with polythene from November to May. Grow resistant cultivars.
 Powdery mildews
 Tebuconazole + trifloxystrobin
Grow resistant cultivars, grow plants in the open avoid shade, space plants out. SB Plant Invigorator sprays. Water plant regular and improve the soil water holding capacity.
 Rusts
 None available
Leeks – water if dry in the summer, do not over feed with nitrogen. Other crops – pick off infected leaves do not compost. Avoid too much nitrogen.

Prune out infected wood if possible, treat the wounds with Medo wound paint. Grow the more resistant cultivars, avoid susceptible ones
Grow less susceptible cultivars, clear up fallen leaves, water ground with diluted urine or nitrogen feed, prune to keep an open centre. Grow resistant cultivars.
Remove and dispose of any rotting fruit immediately, clear any that are on the tree overwinter.
Rotation, resistant cultivars, add organic matter to the soil and water when tuber start to form.
Use sterilised compost, tap water for watering seedlings, reduce humidity, sow thinly and use clean containers.
Prune off infected branches well beyond the infected area or remove the whole tree. Burn any debris.
Rotation, avoid too much nitrogen, dry before storing, handle carefully and check regular in store.
Grow resistant cultivars, rotation
Resistant cultivars especially the Sarpo strains, grow earlies and second earlies can often be ready before blight arrives. Look at the Blightwatch site for a forecast of arrival in your area.
Prune out infected stems and dispose, mulch the area, avoid drought by watering. Avoid too much nitrogen, grow resistant cultivars to spur blight.
Prune out infected growth, cut back at least 15 cm from any infection. Prune susceptible plants in the summer.

Fireblight
Onion neck rot
Parsnip canker Potato blight (late)
