Funky Lil’ Feet children’s shoe shop is owned and run by Claire Fox. Alongside Claire there are a fully qualified team of shoe fitters (most of whom are also mother’s) so you are assured a very warm welcome when you visit. They have a huge selection of brands offering a
full range from plimsolls to school shoes to snow boots and everything you could want in between! Here she tells us more about her funky lil’ shop...
When did you establish the shop? The shop was opened in April 2005 with a real emphasis on foot health.
What makes Funky Lil’ Feet different? We offer a no obligation appointment system for having your children’s feet measured in a Covid secure environment. This means no waiting around which is invaluable when you have little ones in tow. We stock a huge variety of brands from Start Rite through to many continental
brands, which means there is always something for everyone.
What size feet do you cater for? Our sizes range from a teeny 17 (UK 1) to a rather larger 45 (UK 11). We are always happy to help with any sizing queries and offer a professional measuring service.
What’s the best feature of the shop? From
the children’s point of view it must surely be the aeroplane room, but the adults probably prefer the relaxed atmosphere in the ladies fitting room.
The best part of the job? That’s easy, it’s seeing our regular customers – and watching them grow! We love chatting and catching up with what everyone has been doing since their last visit.
...and the worst part? Preparing for ‘back to school’. It’s a huge financial commitment and every year the worry of “will everyone turn up for their new school shoes”?
