Chairman’s Report
‘Hearth & Home’
What comes to mind when we think about ‘Hearth & Home’? Terms that have been used for many years, about our sense of belonging. Hearth symbolizing warmth, light, food and protection. A place around our literal or metaphorical fireplace, a very ancient attachment to that which provides.
Home is where our heart resides and the hearts of those who we love and trust. This can be a physical place (house, flat etc...) or an abstract place in which we feel at home. The saying goes ‘I feel at home with this or that...’. An inner sense of homeliness; peace & contentment. Not a place, but a state of being.
At this time of year our senses, feelings & emotions can often be heightened, for the times that have past, for those we have lost. They will always have a place in our hearts, in our inner home.
We can all make the world a better place by opening the door into our hearts, allowing others to reside within. We all need to feel at home, to feel loved and

valued. Make someone’s Christmas by opening our hearts.
Thrapston is not just a place where I live, but a place I call home.
Merry Christmas
