RHS Hampton Court’s Allotment Display Plots
These were inspiring spaces, showcasing the finest fruit and veg, and how to grow them.

Anyone can grow edible plants and there’s no fixed destination on a gardening journey. This is the idea behind this RHS Allotment, where a curved path illustrates this meandering experience. Alongside are containers, as well as vegetables growing in the ground.
SUNNYSIDE ALLOTMENT SOCIETY: THE SUNNYSIDE OF LIFE DESIGNED BY SUNNYSIDE ALLOTMENT SOCIETY Sponsor: Cook & Butler
In this cutting patch allotment, raised beds, recycled pots, crates, vintage finds and a recycled greenhouse are used for sowing and growing annual and perennial flowers, such as scabious, delphiniums and sweet peas, as well as herbs for scented foliage.

Grow to Know has gone from Guerrilla Gardening at London’s Westway, as a response to the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy, to creating this allotment garden at RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival.
BAGSHOT INFANT SCHOOL: DIG FOR VICTORY
(WINNER OF BEST COMMUNITY ALLOTMENT) Designed by Year 2 children from Bagshot Infant School, Surrey. Supported by Chair of the Governing Body, Steve Barker The grounds of Bagshot Infant School in Surrey were converted into allotments during both World Wars, and the garden reflects this wartime heritage.

past 100 years of the Society’s allotment site, starting with traditional-style beds separated by a turfed path. Towards the middle is an open shed structure offering a view to the back of the plot.
